Two ways to capture an idea
Pocket’s documentation describes a dedicated recording device that syncs with its app. Saynote starts with your iPhone microphone, browser recording or an imported audio file. You do not need a separate recorder to use Saynote.

Where Saynote may fit
Choose Saynote if you want an app-centered workflow: capture on iPhone, read on the web, and keep tasks connected to their original conversation. Its Build feature goes a step further by sending a brief to a paired Mac and returning tool questions and results to your phone.
Saynote currently supports Codex and Claude Code for desktop builds. Your Mac must be awake and online, and you use your own tool account. Other providers and direct third-party recorder pairing are not included in this release.
Where Pocket may fit
Pocket may suit you if a separate physical recorder is central to your routine. Its official documentation covers hardware pairing, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth sync, USB-C Web Sync, and a dedicated device call mode. Saynote does not record both sides of an iPhone call.
Compare the workflow, not just the feature names
Before choosing, try the same short meeting or memo in the tools you are considering. Check names, speaker labels, dates and the action items you actually meant to create. Also consider whether you prefer a dedicated recorder, which screens you use to review notes, and whether your recordings need to feed a coding workflow.
